Being the first people to stay here I can honestly say that the work that has been put into the buildings over the last two years has paid off. Also Suzanne and David have been very warm and helpful over the last week. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Nick and Vicky Reading

The lodge is lovely. We all had a great holiday. Hope to come back soon. The allens of Darlongton

So lucky to be the first to stay in this super lodge, a lot of thought and attention to detail has gone into making a great holiday home. Ideal base to explore the wonderful coastline. The chrisps of Darlington

A joy to stay here. Lots of space, comfort, pretty garden & lovely books. Courteous, supportive owners a delight. We had another lovely break ( with freinds who fell for the place) in one of our favourite areas. Thank you. Peter and Gail of Yorkshire

Webhad a great time. Plenty to do. We enjoyed the short walk from Bulmer to Sugar Sands. There is no need to leave the village to do any shopping, the village store / deli is very good. Would also recommend Sun Inn Bistro & the Red Lion. This lodge is lovely and we hope to come back soon Elizabeth, Nigel & Chloe Stockton-on-Tees

By far the most comfortable and well designed holiday letting that we have used. We have had a wonderful week, and can't imagine that we will be able to wait for 12 months to return. Many thanks for all your hard work. Felicity & David, Milton Keynes

Thanks so much for a really delightful place to stay - both the apartment itself, Alnmouth & and the Coastal area. I hope to be back some day! Maggie Hill, Liphook

So so kind & lovely to stay here. I'm afraid I'll be back!! Moira, Co Carlow

5 Star accomodation! Great location, perfect hosts - thanks Andria, Michael & Mathew, Tattenhall

What a fabulous apartment, I feel as if I have stepped into the pages of World of Interiors. We love this area, especially Alnmouth. We spent a few evenings parked by the beach in our home on wheels, with a bottle of wine and the newspapers, watching the world go by on the sands. We did do some walking too! See you again one day. Lynne and Robert, Suffolk.

Love Alnmouth and Northumbria - Everyone should eat out in a tree house at least once in their lives. Mark and Janet, Marlow

Loved the cottage - great place to stay, so nice to have a selection of good pubs / restaurants in easy walking distance. Recommend take away fish and chips from the Hope & Anchor we ate ours in the garden - super. Also took advantage of the train station so close for a day in Edinburgh. The Randle family, Bedworth

With a name of 'Spence Lodge' we just had to stay here! Superb accommodation, a great base for touring Northumberland and the Borders, and some half decent weather - we couldn't ask for more! The Spence family, Doncaster

What a fantastic place to stay! We loved the aesthetics of the cottage, the village, the beach, estuary birds, cowrie shells, local beer, the bus service and even the dead puffin (especially since we didn't see a live one - yet). We hope to be back. The Bonney and Whelan families (part of), Reading / Edinburgh / London

Had an utterly fantastic week, what a lovely cottage, attention to detail is second to none. Garden is fabulous too! Recommend the 'Ship Inn' at Low Newton for crab sandwiches and the Couch Inn at Lesbury for an evening meal. This is our fourth visit to Alnmouth and we will definitely be back to Spence Lodge. Love it. Jane and David, Derby and Smalley

Fantastic accommodation. Best staged on to date. Certainly has the "feel good factor" for a relaxing break. Very welcoming host - good luck in your business venture. Elaine & Dave, Durham

Enjoyed a great week. We went walking along beaches and Coastal paths and they were very pretty. We also enjoyed a boat trip around the Farne Islands where we saw lots of wildlife including puffins and seals. We loved the house and the location. We will definitely return again in the near future. The Wilkinson family, Cheshire

Out fourth time in Alnmouth and certainly the nicest accommodation and the pleasantest landlady! We'll certainly be back. Don't miss the walk to Dunstanburgh Castle + crab sandwiches at the Jolly Fisherman; lunch at the Tree House brill but you need to book. The Breckinridge family, Hebden Bridge

Had an enjoyable week in Alnmouth. Fantastic cottage which was a joy to return to when it did occasionally rain. We also saw the sun for a few days and had a great trip around the Farne Islands. The Spray Family

Our annual holiday to Northumberland but first stay in Alnmouth, which is the perfect base. A really lovely property - beautifully fitted-out and very comfortable. Thanks. Lots of beach trips plus great days out at Cragside & Warkworth Castle. Kids love the crazy golf at Seahouses + we love a crab sandwich at the Ship Inn, Low Newton. Looking forward to next year already....... The Sadler family, Hampshire

A great place to stay. The weather was good too! Lovely pubs with great ales. The Red Lion is one of the best for food and ales. It's a lovely walk to Walkworth on the beach. Kyle and Elaine, West Yorkshire

What a superb location and accommodation as well. So peaceful and weather surprised us. Were able to have tea in the garden! Local food a delight including Bistro 23, Beaches and the Hope and Anchor excelled. Coastline of outstanding beauty - walking the beaches and headlands a must. The Laurence family, Vancouver

Wonderful accommodation in a delightful village. An excellent introduction to Northumberland. Allan and Thelma, North Lincolnshire

Spence Lodge is the best accommodation we have occupied in Alnmouth. We have stayed in the village many times as we love the area. Congratulations to Suzanne on her eye to detail when furnishing the apartment. We will definitely come again. Sue and David, Stickport

The accommodation is a wonderful combination of a "boutique" Hotel with the flexibility of self-catering. Great weather - good walking on the coast & inland at Simonside Crags. Jessie, Warwickshire

Fantastic second visit to Spence Lodge. Thank you to our lovely hosts. Don't want to go home. We'll be back!! David + Jane, Nigel + Sue, Derby
