Being the first people to stay here I can honestly say that the work that has been put into the buildings over the last two years has paid off. Also Suzanne and David have been very warm and helpful over the last week. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Nick and Vicky Reading

We have enjoyed a wonderful week walking around Alnmouth and the local beaches. Also exploring the sourrounding area. Always knowing we were coming back to pope lodge for comfort and relaxation. Definately 5 star! Margot and Alistair from midlothian

We love Alnmouth and now we have found the perfect place to stay. Pope lodge is superb. We look forward to returning. Lunch in the sanctuary restaurant at Alnwick castle was particularly good and coffee and cakes at the shoreline cafe at craster. Thank you suzanne and david, your high standards are appreciated. Viv and Terry of Mansfield

Our stay here has been amazing. We almost don't want to tell anyone so that it stays our secret!! But will of course be recommending it to everyone we know. We really appreciated your attention to detail and will definately be back - if we can get in!! You are going to do very well. Thank you! (ps our evening meal at the treehouse in Alnwick wad great and lunch at the sanctuary was too) Jane and Adam Sheffield

Wonderful place to stay, lots of good walks and bike rides in and around Alnmouth, whatever the weather. Great food at the Red Lion, cheese cake to die for, that's if you can drag yourself out of Pope Lodge, 1st class accomodation, everything you could need, excellent. Hope to be back soon. Thanks. Helen & Sam, Nantwich

After countless visits to Alnmouth, this has been the best yet. Fabulous accommodation - very welcoming after long walks along local beaches & visits to nearby villages and towns. We ate regularly in "The Sun" which proved to be great pup food, but we also ate in the Red Lion and that was good too. (we would recommend both). We both wish that we could stay longer. Many Thanks. Neil & Ann, West Yorkshire.

We have had a wonderful holiday and have really enjoyed our stay at Pope Lodge. Enjoyed a meal at the Red Lion and the Tree House. But as Pope Lodge is so comfortable and lovely we stayed in several nights and had a lovely time. Enjoyed lots of wonderful walks and the surrounding villages and towns. It's a shame that the castles close at the end of October! Everything has been great! Many Thanks. Helen & Jon

Excellent in everyway. Recommend the Lobster from the SwollenFish in Seahouses. Colin & Pauline, Stafford

Thank you Suzanne and David for your helpfulness & hospitality. The accommodation is of a really high standard. We have enjoyed the walks from Alnmouth & the meals at the Red Lion & the Coach Inn at Lesbury. We plan to return when the Castles & Gardens are open. Thanks Jo & Jon, Stamford & Essex

Wow what a property! - the first class interior is finished to a high standard and is matched by the well designed and landscaped gardens. Already planning a return! Nigel & Lynne, Nottingham.

This is a beautiful apartment and finished to an extremely high degree. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Many thanks. Phillips & Shane, Knaresborough

We lived a dream. This accomodation is in a completely different league. Highlights outside Pope Lodge:- The Red Lion, Cragside, Fenwick Gallery Warkworth, Barter Books Alnwick, The Ship Inn Low Newton by the Sea, Lovers walk, Bamburgh Castle, and all the walks in between and last but not least our beloved Alnmouth Paul and Louise Twickenham

Excellent Accomodation - Great area, pity about the weather! Good food at Bistro 23 on Weds & Sat evenings. Intend to come back. John and Jennifer, Nottingham

A thoroughly enjoyable week in a beautiful part of the world. The apartment is exceptionally well apointed and provided a most luxurious home from which to venture out and explore the coast. Many thanks. Peter & Beth, York

Very comfortable week. Thanks Shelagh & Seamus, Bristol

5 Star accomodation in beautiful Alnmouth. Great location for visiting the amazing Northumberland coast. Best day trip Lindisfarne (check tides) and Cragside. Great food at the Coach Inn at Lesbury. We'll be back. Gary and Nicky, Milton Keynes

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed in: beautifully furnished and decorated, well equipped, and spotlessly clean. We would love to come back to Pope Lodge and Alnmouth. Abigail and Jeremy, Portsmouth.

We have so enjoyed staying at this beautiful apartment and exploring this wonderful area. Our first visit to Northumberland will be the first of many hopefully. We've eaten well, most notably at the Tree House and Bistro 23 and tried to walk off the excess with some lovely walks around Alnmouth and along the coast. Ian & Cynthia, Tibberton.

No one else seems to have mentioned the good food at the Hope & Anchor - no need to go any further! Barter Books in Alnwick great for wet weather. Go to Bamburgh Castle before Cragside as it helps to explain the background and get the audio guide. Thelma & Alyn, Surrey

This holiday was 'bought' for us by our children to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. It has been everything, and more, than we expected. The apartment, the nice touches like flowers and wine, show the thought that has been put into it. If your legs can stand it, Cragside is a must, but then again, so is everything. Jacky & Bill, Camberley, Surrey.

We have been regular visitors to Alnmouth over the years and Pope Lodge is definitely the best accomodation we have stayed in. Hopefully we will be able to stay here again in the future. Martinez and Caroline, Milton Keynes

5 star accomodation. Excellent location. Would definitely recommend. David & Julia, Northampton

The accomodation is excellent, everything in Pope Lodge has been well thought out. We have never been to this part of the country before, the scenery is beautiful and there is so much to explore in the area that a week is not enough. We especially enjoyed our visit to Holy Island, the gardens at Alnwick and the walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. We hope you make a success of your business, it should not be a problem considering the standard of the accomodation! Marian & Roger, Swansea

A beautiful place to stay, perfectly equipped & great to have the basics, wine & flowers as a welcome. Never visited the area before & will definitely return. The Red Lion and it's garden overlooking the estuary, very tranquil, great place to unwind. Would love to return to Pope Lodge. Ally & Malcolm, Kidderminster

We agree! See you next time - if we come back to Alnmouth we will be staying here. Mike & Gill, Horsham

Pope Lodge is obviously a delight. We have been very comfortable here and visiting freinds agreed about the "wow" factor. Out and about we enjoyed the coast walks to Craster and Amble and a lovely river walk to Alnwick. The best meal was at the deliciously ecclectic 'Beaches' B+B -cum- restaurant, excellent fish and sea food cooked with gusto (plus lots of butter and cream). Val & John, York

We have had a wonderful stay in this fabulous apartment. From the warn welcome we recieved on arrival & the provision of a 'welcome pack', to the light, well equipped & tranquil accomodation we have felt really at home here. We can recommend using the bus to get up the coast and walk on the Coastal path - as the weather allows. The walk to Walkworth is also well worth doing. We hope to return. Thank you. Alison & John

Thank you for a wonderul stay - Pope Lodge has been beautifully decorated & furnished and was a lovely retreat to escape to. Little touches like the welcome pack & flowers made it even better. Like many others we loved the Treehouse restaurant at the Alnwick Castle for dinner. We weren't too impressed with the food at the Hope and Anchor. If anyone is looking for a pool, the one at Willowburne Leisure centre in Alnwick is excellent. Like everyone else we hope to return to this beautiful, tranquil spot. Thank you. Nicola & Darion, London & Melbourne

Excellent accommodation, modern but warm and welcoming, can recommend dining at Bistro 23. Pam and David, Durham

Excellent accommodation. Enjoyed eating out at the Coach Inn, Lesbury, Bistro 23, Red Lion + the Beaches. Great Coastal walks. Mike and Liz, Campbeltown

Excellent accommodation for a lovely weeks walking. Nigel and Carolyn, Nottinghamshire
